Matsuri

On the island of Yuriba, Matsuri generally refers to a specific festival that usually occurs on either the second or third weekend of August. The theme of the Matsuri tends to be celebrating the end of summer, and getting a last bit of fun in before the fall season (and semester) begins. Matsuri generally seems to last through all of Saturday and Sunday, and consists of a number of rides, shopping venues, and small food carts scattered throughout the village. Occassionally, larger events are held, but these seem to have lessened in recent years, as according to the Matsuri organizer, breisleach, they require far more complex planning, yet are sparsely attended at best.
