Appearance
Description
This is a young woman of about 5'5", and quite slender. The pale skin of her face is framed by straight black hair, cut not-quite shoulder length and curling forwards from the back. A pair of cat ears poke out atop her head, occasionally twitching at some sound. Green eyes sparkle like jade set into ivory. She has a small, cute nose and soft-looking lips seeming always ready to curl into a smile. Her body is trim and fit, the body of an enthusiastic swimmer. Her legs are long and shapely, ending in nicely-shaped feet, and a slender, very feline tail curls out from behind her, as black as her hair, but the last two inches are tipped in white, as if it had been dunked into paint.

Biography
Growing Up
Ishtar Athena Karambolos was born on May 23, 1963 in the town of Gevgelija, Yugoslavia, right on the border with Greece, of mixed Macedonian, Greek and Roma extraction. On completion of high school in Gevgelija, she was granted admission to a university in Belgrade, then the capital of Yugoslavia, where she went in 1980. She completed her degree in electrical engineering and Japanese language in 1984, and gained admission to Tokyo University to pursue her MSc there. She arrived in Tokyo that year to begin her studies, and a year later, in 1985, she decided to take a vacation to Saipan. It was on the shipboard journey there that something (she doesn't know what) happened, and on waking found herself on Yuriba.
Yuriba
Her initial time on Yuriba was spent exploring and learning about her new surroundings, quickly becoming accustomed to it and comfortable in it. For the first while, she practically lived at the Hot Springs. She made a few friends during her initial explorations, and since has met someone she's grown rather attached to, with whom she's taken up residence in an out-of-the-way corner of the island. Now and again she still ventures out exploring.

- Sabriel is just a wanderer who Ishatha happened to run across.
- Ishatha and Kumiko are old friends from before both of their time in Yuriba. They happened to re-meet and stumble across one another by surprise on evening. If you ask them how they know each other, they might mumble something about a particular orientation of keeping a compact disc in one's music collection or something about the gift of immortality through the gateway of resurrection. Given how weird Kumiko is, most decide not to bother with what would probably be a confusing and unending list of questions.
